     Sorry, folks, I was busy doing other things when I realized this had gone up without text. So here I am...

     As a change of pace, I thought I'd share this work-in-progress scan of a sample illustration from Voluptuous Vampire Vixens. You'll have to zoom in to catch the ridiculous amount of detail in it. This ought to give you a better idea of what the book will be--artwork that illustrates horror-themed alliterations--than just my description. I thought it would be an appropriate post for the season.

     I actually let this piece sit for a few weeks, partly because I had no time for it, but also because at that point it didn't quite work for me. When I got around to looking at it again, I realized it didn't work because I had made the frogs scary: evil expressions, sharp fangs, etc. It just wasn't funny if the Frankensteins (yes, I know the monster wasn't called Frankenstein) had genuine reason to be scared. So I lost the scary and made the frogs placid and blank-faced, and suddenly it worked.
