     Hiya. So this is page 4 of the Deja Vu short, "People in Need", which I obviously should have posted before page 5. Especially since it's supposed to be a big reveal and all. Oops. On the plus side, this page sucks less. Proportions are better, perspective's alright, that sort of thing. You can also see a lot of the experimenting I was doing back then. This was at a time when printing was much different than it is today. You could either have linework, (black and white but nothing in between) or shading (gray tones), but you couldn't have both on the same page. It just didn't work. So I played around with screen tones, drybrush, stippling, and spattering. Looks kinda weird, I don't know, I think it works for the title; Deja Vu was always meant to have a rough, "street" kind of feel to it. I definitely prefer the way things are today, though. I love the freedom of being able to mix ink linework with gray tones. More time consuming, but looks better, and much less stressful. What do you think, class?
