...Aannd here's Deja from last week, all inked up. Fun story about this piece: The original sketch was done a long time ago (hence the need to update the style and basically re-pencil  it), and I must have been out of Bristol board at the time. It was done on a drawing paper with tooth--a noticeable texture--making inking a challenge. The texture tends to make the pen skip along the surface, especially on light, thin strokes. It also shreds pen tips like a bitch. I had just gotten a new set of pens after months of limping along on pens with worn, dry tips, but I wasn't about to wear them out prematurely on this one piece. But it worked out in the end; I even used the rough texture as a plus by letting it show on her jeans, to enhance the tattered look.
