I'm currently working on a commission that's a little more involved than most. Basically, I was given the theme of "above and below" (my words): a cutaway depiction of something happening above ground, and whatever is happening directly below. I brainstormed a list of possibilities, and--big surprise--I settled on the idea of grim, no-nonsense (and no fun) monster hunters out with their torches and pitchforks, led by a kind of Van Helsing type, and below ground, a bunch of witches, vampires and assorted other monsters, partying away. As you see it here, it's about two-thirds done. Next comes gray tones, which will make the whole thing much easier to read. It wasn't until I sat down to make this post that I realized that I (Richard Moore) was given this commission, but it really came out more as a Grayson Fogg piece. Maybe he just hasn't had much time to express himself lately...or maybe I just have a one-track mind! (Note: Those are not giant floating sperm cells above the vamps and demon; when gray tones are added, they'll be much more clearly will-o'-the-wisps. So get your minds outta the gutter!)
