Here's an interesting commission. Certainly an interesting use of the golem myth. I'd forgotten about the dialogue, which is what I like most about it. And I like the old couple more than I usually like my background characters. The golem itself is a far cry from my own version, in an unproduced miniseries called Jacob. The title character is a golem made to look human, with the feelings and intelligence of a human, created by a very elderly Holocaust survivor. A local crime boss has leverage over the old man, who is forced to allow Jacob to be used as an enforcer. I never pursued it because it needs a more realistic art style than I could maintain over a long run. (I'll say it again: any up-and-comer artists out there willing to work for peanuts in an unappreciated art form looking for a writer with unproduced scripts, just message me.) Too bad, too. It's a unique blend of action and crime drama with a tragic love story. Oh, well. But anyway, enjoy the golem-boning!
