While drawing this page, I was reminded of an incident from my childhood that has always made me smile. I was seven years old, and although class was at recess, I was still in the classroom, drawing.  The teacher, Mrs. Woods (tiny, read-headed; a great and supportive teacher), saw that I was drawing a skeleton, despite the calendar insisting it was almost Christmas.  Amused, she asked why I wasn't drawing Santa or reindeer or something else more seasonally appropriate. At first I didn't know how to answer; it seemed such a strange question. Finally I replied, "It's still Halloween in my head." It's to Mrs. Woods' credit that she did not call my parents to recommend therapy for their morbid little one.
