I've always liked the chimeric blending of human and animal, in fiction and art, so I might've drawn this any time, but I believe it was done around the time I did The Pound. This cutie would probably have found her way into the series, if it had ever been more than a one-shot. She actually reminds me of Chloe, a flying squirrel "chime'" who would have debuted in the never-published second issue. (You can still see her in the character sketches at the back of #1.) For the sharp-eyed out there who remember my unsyndicated comic strip, Hogsbreath, you'll find Dudley, the mute duck-billed platypus in the pile of plushes.  Not to mention a mini Brutus, from Boneyard. And one last detail to note: I'm not sure if subliminal messages work or not, but sometimes I enjoy playing around with them. Look closely at the teddy bear behind the lady's shapely posterior--or rather, look at its arm. Remind you of anything? And here's the fun part: you'll never be able to not see it now!
