Hey all. For whatever reason, I can't seem to scan my past posts right now, so I don't know what image(s) I included when I touched on this topic before... but I've spent all night cleaning up pages, so I'm going to plunge recklessly ahead (which is practically my motto).

If you recall, I mentioned a character who started out as a  rabbit in an adult short ("Holed Up"), but when I adapted her to a dramatic, non-adult story (Slamhounds), I changed her to an amphibious species. This made a clean break from the cheeky "cuteness" of the original character, and also had the benefit of avoiding the whole "furry" issue, with its accompanying baggage. (Her name, "Dash", remained the same, but comes with an explanation in the newer version.) I don't think I was able to post any images of the original design back then, but I found some decent scans online (possibly the only benefit to people giving away your work for free online). Here's the one page I can share here without putting it in a Naughty Bits section:

The pinup sketch at top is obviously from her redesign. The pouch at the back of her head is a stylish way of protecting those around her. It contains a thatch of tendrils that pack a potent combination of stinging venom and  electrical shock. (As I think I explained in that earlier post, in the rabbit design, her ears are mostly hidden behind her head.)  Physical features were the least of the changes she went through, however.  She became a very tragic figure, still using her feminine wiles to perform her job, but under the surface she's extremely damaged and isolated, even amongst her crew.

I'll include a few more sketches here, and later I'll add more, including some inked pages. Her stinging tendrils are visible in the second pinup. Have a good one!
