General Description
Now that you are in the mindset to make some mods, here is the software required to do so. Thankfully there are plenty of open source software that we can download to make mods.
Open source is denoting software for which the original source code is made freely available and may be redistributed and modified.
General Skills Required
- General idea of how to run a computer
- General idea of how to edit code
- General idea of how to use a text editing program
- Know how to edit images and use an image editing program
- Patience

This is the main game engine editor you will use to build your mods for free. They update it a few times a year on average. The resources on GDN are vast with forum topics from current and prior releases of the Farming Simulator Brand.

Image formatting software that allows you to have layers of images of texts. Very useful when making custom textures. Free Software with the option to donate.

Create Normal maps and textures fast using this online tool that is donation based. It takes some practice but makes texturing a lot simpler.

Blender is the free and open source 3D creation suite. It supports all of the 3D modellings your heart could desire for modding. We recommend you watch a Youtuber Named "Blender Guru" if you want to get good with this software.
Audacity®

Audio editor that is an easy-to-use, multi-track sound editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems. This will be used when we make custom sounds later on in the book.
