I was getting the scene ready by adding the environment and tried to get a nice lighting setup. I had to do some tweaking to everything but I think over it's looking pretty good. I attached some draft renders I had rendering yesterday and overnight. Some renders at various points while testing and tweaking things:

(You'll notice by Bob's tail that there's some weirdness going on with the texture, I'll fix that before doing the final renders!)

I also noticed some pretty egregious weirdness around the fluids here, I've seen this before but usually it's not as bad but I'm pretty sure it's a result of baking the fluids with the unsubdivided meshes of the characters (since like... using subdivisions would make the bake take even longer than it already is). I'm going to try figuring out a way to fix that...

That's it for now! Just a heads up- there's a hurricane coming so I might lose power for a few days which won't be good for getting meaningful stuff done... which sucks. If you're in Florida, stay safe out there!

Creating 'thumbnails' of rendered scenes at much lower resolutions will help your workflow tremendously! Especially for sound, since you can replace video assets later while retaining the audio-track work. You can compose the scenes and finish their other aspects without sinking a huge amount of render-time into something you might need to adjust later on in the process. Out of curiosity, have you ever considered doing releases of content with sound, but no music? Your foley work is wonderful, so sometimes I can't help but want to tune in on it without pollution~.

Thank you, I can do that I suppose. I usually use music and/or some kind of ambience as both to set the mood and also a way to cover up some shoddy sound effects (some sounds when I processed them after recording there's a bit too much background noise to remove without ruining the sound so it's apparent when there's nothing else). But I'll do that for this one and see how it goes.
