Before, I was stuck trying to figure out how I could tackle the glamor hole animation in a non-linear way. Since I'm still waiting for the VA to be available to record the triceratops' lines, I can't do a ton of animation on the triceratops, besides some basic poses and body language that give off a vague expression of what he would be thinking or feeling.

The other day, I had a good idea- at least, for my work flow needs.

There's not many cuts between camera perspectives, but there are a few. The biggest advantage of having cuts like this is it allows you work on the animation on a shot-by-shot basis. I can work on specific parts, a bit at a time, or get them at least kind of blocked out.

In this case, I thought "what if each different shot was separated by 1000 frame intervals?" I can keep track of what's what using the markers on the timeline (and taking notes in the text editor).

So, for example, the part where the triceratops pulls out, the dragon shows his hole the camera, and the triceratops' head pokes into the glamor hole is in frames 1000 to 2000 on the animation file. This allows for plenty of space to move some stuff farther back if I need to.

Another shot could be from frame 5000-6000. They don't need to be in order! The highest maximum number of frames you can have in Blender is 1,048,574, so that's way more than enough frames for this particular way of animating different parts.

I've attached a little preview of some parts I began animating (still needs some polish of course). For now I've turned off the dragon's hair because even the low poly version is a bit heavy and ends up slowing things down several frames.

Out of all the stuff in this animation, this is the part I'm most excited to see finished. I think the fluids, soft bodies and sound will be really nice to have working together...

Of course, I'm still going to do the egg laying animation- which one I focus on more this month is sort of up to how the VA goes for the triceratops. But I'm kind of leaning more towards the egg laying one since it's a lot farther along.

Anyway, that's about it. I just wanted to share my work around for doing parts of an animation out of sequence that fits my needs nicely and a WIP pull out. I'm going to get to bed so I'll respond to stuff tomorrow, but thanks so much for all the support and stuff... I'm glad everyone is as excited as I am for 3d lewd :p

Calmy

That's a really smart workflow <33 I seriously love how much you let us know about the way you do things c:

id love to clean that hole since I'm a "small fry." <3

Maybe not "smart" necessarily :p There's probably a better way to organize different shots on the same "set" and I'm just completely unaware of it. But it should work well enough for this particular case!

LMAO!!!! i like to watch!!!! but i dont mind cleaning up. Its weird but there is a rush of ecstasy watching someone get plow!<3

Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly get more excited, here I am :P
