Sick >_> + exterior stuff (Patreon)

I haven't done much besides fumble around with trying to make an exterior for the apartment (the very first bit in the game) and then maybe trying to prototype something in-game.

I don't really like it, but it's a step in the direction I'd like to go, with visible brush strokes on large surfaces such as the tile. I'm not sure about the wall texture- I was trying to make it look like briar stucco which has some neat "fan' like scrapings on it and I layered another texture on top to hide some of them and avoid a very tiled look

Stucco + mask texture- the mask is mapped to be a bit bigger than the stucco texture, this way they never line up and help to get rid of that pesky tiling problem.

An idea- perhaps "LOD" textures but instead of smaller sizes, they're repainted to have larger brush strokes. Maybe, we'll see.

Also, these are the textures for the plants. When I get more of a chance to, I'd like to try combining this idea of heavy brush stroke textures + the vertex color thing I showed earlier, as well as lines with grease pencil, maybe that's the trick to the "look."

And it might seem a bit weird, to worry so much about environment art. Honestly, it's probably not that important to most players. But, to me, I want the environments to look "professional" or, at the very least, not an after thought. Something stylish... it's just finding the style is the problem!

Finally, I've been under the weather since Thursday last week. Sunday, they sent me home when I went to work because that was the day I started losing smell/taste. Yesterday I got tested for rona and that was also the day I couldn't smell or taste anything (besides sweet/salty). So I won't find out if I have corona virus until tomorrow at the earliest >_> it's not terrible and I've been feeling better, but I still feel like garbage and my sense of smell is just... gone.

Which is quite a bummer because smell is an important sense to me with my art/sexuality :c how can I smell pits or ass if I can't smell! Though it could be worse- I'm not coughing and having breathing problems.

(I highly recommend not setting foot into a retail store because they make their employee's work sick. I called ethics on my store because I worked 3 days while sick and management okay'd me to work even though I had symptoms of corona virus. I also had a coworker who was sicker than I was who they made work as well. They don't care about anyone's safety and I would be very careful shopping at a brick and mortar retailer)
