The senior student's mundane shift takes an unexpected turn when a towering figure enters the shop.

In this short story, we explore what looks like a random sexual encounter between an ordinary young man (Tom) and an exceptionally large build mercenary (John). The laundromat sets the stage for exploring power dynamics, size and age differences, vulnerability, and unexpected connections between two very different individuals.

Tom is taken aback by the big man’s unexpected presence and intimidating physique, feeling a mix of fear and fascination as he watches him undress. Unsure of how to react, Tom's curiosity is piqued as he wonders what could have brought such a towering figure to the humble laundromat.

As John reveals his muscular physique, Tom gains confidence and begins undressing, mirroring John's boldness despite his smaller stature. In that vulnerable moment, all of Tom's inhibitions and insecurities wash away as he embraces the freedom of being fully exposed before the imposing figure of the bodybuilder.

The raw authenticity of the moment allows him to shed any remaining fears or constraints, basking in the raw power and presence of the towering individual standing before him.

At that moment, like David facing Goliath, he embodies courage and unwavering determination, channelling the spirit of the underdog who refuses to back down. With a steadfast gaze and a heart unshaken by fear, he is prepared to confront the overwhelming power before him, fully embracing the challenge with a fierce and fearless resolve.

Settings

The King Wash Laundromat is the perfect setting for this story. It’s not the bright and spotless place, one might expect from such an establishment, but a dark and rundown place in a shabby futuristic neighbourhood. It's ready to be a horror environment, an action scene, a midnight urban tale, or the impromptu spot for the late-night kiss. This time the setting will be used for much more than that.

The store comes from Dekogon Studios, which seems to be specialized in this kind of dilapidated setting. The street was compiled from elements for Stonemason’s Urban Future 5

Characters

The Tom figure was modelled after a character by Uncanny Valet, resembling the actor Tom Holland. I'm not sure the likeness succeeded, but the character fitted well for my idea for this project; a student hugely contrasting to his counterpart in the story.

John, the Big Guy was based on a model by Barras called The Barbarian, a hyperrealistic character based on a real 3D anatomy scan.

To be continued... The next update will be on 12 May 2024
