Hey folks, quick video to keep you in the loop on what's happening. The TLDW...? Too long didn't watch:

- Next video is about throttle control for solid motors! Got it working well so far

- Then a design video about an 8ft tall Starship/Superheavy model we're gonna make

- Project with Mark Rober comes out... sometime?? soon?? Took 10000% longer than we thought

- Meat Seeking Missile(new name needed)(silly project, but helps with spaceshot)

More soon,

Joe

I am sooooo looking forward to you successfully landing your rocket!! Love the other projects you are working on. I'm always in the mood for bacon--cooked however!

Joe , I’ve written a couple of times but I don’t know for sure that you have received them because they were sent from other forums. At any rate I started flying Estes model rockets in the late 60s and early 70s so I have a little experience with the old stuff !! Working on landing as well and have developed a couple of so far untested methods. Number one being pop out flaps which orient the rocket vertically at low altitude with three small ( Estes T ?? ) engines as retros exposed by the flap deployment. A variation in thrust effectiveness could be obtained by changing the angle of effective thrust direction on all three engines simultaneously. Still remembering the old days and safety issues an idea I like better is the possible use of under the flap thrusters powered by a CO2 cartridge like you find in a CO2 pistol. These would be extremely highly and relatively easily controllable and hugely safer !! One suggestion I would make on the current project ( space ) is to watch out for high input forces and extreme reaction to input forces in high velocity …… not usually recommended or necessary to move an entire control surface !!
