Ufotable (animation studio) has been combining 3D and 2D animation for a while - when they did Fate/Zero and then Garden of Sinners they really became the first production company IMO to find a way to use those crazy sweeping 3D camera angles and get CG elements fit into an anime without looking out of place. Since then they've only improved with Unlimited Blade Works, and Demon Slayer. Even just within Demon Slayer they keep getting better, with these early episodes now paling in comparison to the animation quality you'll see later
