The shift in Lihua's personality from the first few episodes is really interesting to see - the symptoms of lead poisoning are aggression/irritability and decreased cognitive ability. Makes a fuck ton of sense why she was so angry and dismissive before

Shows with this kind of episodic storytelling AND quality of writing are definitely rare. There is a long term plot, as I'm sure you guessed, but it builds very slowly. Other shows of this style are mostly classics like Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, and Samurai Champloo. If you like this, they are definitely ones to keep in mind for future votes.

Ooh didn't think about that. Those title are similarly episodic good shows. Cowboy or ghost are really good "adult" anime of that makes sense? It's doesn't feel like their made for teens I suppose is what I mean.
