Hi all,

I know that a lot of you are backers of our video content first and foremost, and so I wanted to call attention to some of our article-only content that got published this week. We just recently covered Fair Repair laws in the US -- which we believe are critical to ongoing consumer protection and ownership of electronics -- and covered the Internet privacy votes.

If you are interested in any of these, the links are below:

Right to Repair

The "Right to Repair" (aka Fair Repair) bills allow consumers to legitimately own their electronic devices, rather than "lease" them from the providers. This includes console makers Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo, and also includes consumer electronics makers like Apple (who are among the worst with Fair Repair). The laws drill all the way down to "Warranty Void if Removed" stickers hiding screws on things as simple as laptop back plates, and stretch as far as intentionally destroying your products following an unauthorized repair. In other words, if you try to fix something and you don't "own" it (read: it's "leased" to you), then it might have mechanisms built-in to effectively self-destruct.

Internet Privacy

What you can do: http://www.gamersnexus.net/industry/2858-how-you-can-save-internet-privacy

The above link shows our US audience a few avenues to help defend Internet privacy. Speaking as a representative of a company that survives largely on ads, we think this is a huge overreach of ISPs. There are limits as to how much invasion of privacy should be allowed.

As for regular content, stay tuned! We just published a Fractal Define C case review, we're working on some more Ryzen research, and we've got Mass Effect: Andromeda benchmarks being filmed today!

Thanks for your ongoing support and interest in our content, everyone! Your contributions have become significant and are critical to our continued ability to pump-out high-quality content at a fast pace.

Right to Repair & The Delusional Narrative of Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo, et al. | GamersNexus - Gaming PC Builds & Hardware Benchmarks

Taking an iPhone to an Apple store for repair only to have the screws changed to effectively lock its owner out is tantamount to having a mechanic at an automotive shop weld your hood shut and slap "warranty voided if removed" stickers along the seams. How many consumers would find this acceptable?
