Also, we are rendering the next behind-the-scenes video (BTS) now, which will be available shortly for $5 backers. It looks further at Zeta's question in the above video.

I'll be at PAX East on Friday for an appearance on a discussion panel. If you're there, come say hi!

Cheers all,

Patrons Ask GN 7: Organization, Streaming Benchmarks, Cats

This Patrons Ask GN episode covers small parts organization, MSI 1080 Ti Armors with liquid, and more. TIMESTAMPS 00:14 – Zeta: “@Steve Burke #askgn-questions How do you organize your parts, cables, tools, and modding supplies? I'm looking at setting up a better PC building/testing/modding workspace.” 04:58 – zappedrepair: “I just built me a itx rig. But I bought a MSI armor 1080ti. I’m using a cm elite 130 case with a 120 aio for the I7-8700k. Took the cdrom cage out. Don’t need many HD’s have 2 m.2 evo 960s 500gb each. But my real question is will NZXT Kraken G12 GPU Matte and a Corsair 120 rad cool this very hot POS of a gpu? Thanks Frank” 07:05 – SuperShermanTanker: “@Steve Burke #askgn-questions how is Snowflake as a everyday housecat, does she talk/purr a lot, how is she with other people/cats and maybe even dogs, is there any unique thing about her that makes her Snowflake, and also how did you guys come up with the name Snowflake? Also how about those same questions but with Midnight? We never get any Midnight on cam or anywhere.” 08:51 – DeKay: “@Steve Burke #askgn-questions I was rewatching your 8700K review (great review btw) in which you show FPS readings while streaming against baseline FPS readings. I was wondering why did you choose this test methodology. Since the 8700K preforms better than Ryzen in single threaded applications, i would expect it to have higher FPS readings naturally. Would a graph showing percentage of performance while streaming be a smart metric to show? (e.g. If the 8700K performs an average of 100 fps baseline and 80 fps while streaming, showing that streaming performance is 80% of baseline rather than the raw fps metric). If so, any chance you can show this in the upcoming Ryzen 2 review when it launches?” 08:51 – metalshark: “When AVX2/512 offsets are used and then an AVX2/512 instruction is executed how does the CPU know to return to full speed without the offset? Does it wait until next reboot, does it wait for 30 seconds of no AVX instructions, does it work on the basis of instructions being inside executable memory instead (therefore unloading releases the offset) or does it just keep ramping speeds up/down instantaneously? Also on AVX2/512 offsets does it affect all cores, or just those you’ve set affinity for? If it’s only on the cores you’ve set and let’s say you’re using a 7980XE with default turbo boosts and no multi core enhancement, and the program is running on a core that can go to 4.3, will it shift over to a slower core?” Host: Steve Burke Video: Andrew Coleman

Do you eat grape nuts for breakfast? Do you like bacon or sausage? Do you sleep laying down? Were you born in the hospital? OK.. I kid i kid, those aren't real questions.

#ASKGN - You commented on the Ray Tracing video that NVIDIA's Tom Petersen had provided feedback on your Sea Of Thieves console benchmarking. Is it common that industry contacts will contact you on videos that aren't directly tied to one their products or when you are reviewing a competitor?
