What's Coming Up: RAM Investigation, Xbox vs. PC (Patreon)

Those of you in the Discord already have an idea of what's coming up, but in case you missed it, here's a recap of this week's major content pieces:

- We just finished working on a RAM pricing research report that dives into five years of data to look at cyclic trends in memory price, along with major factors contributing to memory price increases of late. This will help establish a baseline of understanding for why RAM has shot up in price recently, and when/if we can expect a return to lower prices.

- Thanks to GPU + RAM prices, an Xbox suddenly makes a lot of sense for many non-enthusiast gamers. We decided to test a comparatively priced PC versus an Xbox One X, running our in-house software to benchmark both. It's an interesting piece, but is still part of our early research on the benchmark tool. We will continue to iterate and improve. For now, we're focusing on Assassin's Creed and Destiny 2, and the first objective was to match the graphics settings between the console and PC.

- We're also working on Der8auer's Skylake-X frame, which will allow us to test thermals without the IHS, and with a replacement ILM.

Lots going on, as always. Fan testing is on hold right now. I will revisit that soon.
