Behind the Scenes with Ulorin Vex (Patreon)

Here's a clip with Ulorin Vex the first time we collaborated together. She's an exceptional model and artist. I LOVE working with her, but don't have too many opportunities to. Every chance I get, I jump on it.

In this clip, we were wrapping up a photoshoot and I had a thought to capture her putting lipstick on in the bathroom of Dominic La Ferla's amazing home in Torrance, California. I asked her to start off normal and then go crazy sliding it all over her face and chest. Not sure why I had this thought, but it just made sense. People get to caught up in perfection. I had no expectations as far as exactly where I wanted the lipstick applied compositionally. I was more interested in the random organic placement. Sometimes that randomness has an aesthetic beauty that can ONLY be created without intent. I often trust randomness.

The first time I met Ulorin Vex was at a gallery show in Santa Monica, California. There was a crowd of hundreds of people. But she stood out so stunning. This magical glow from the sky lit her up and separated her from the crowd. Her energy really can make you gasp. Some people just "got it", and this is no doubt why she's had such a successful modeling career for over fifteen years.
