Hello my friends,

Uncle Terry here with an update.

Patreon

I’ve been doing this Patreon project for a year now and I must admit that before setting it up I was feeling quite trepidatious about my future. The music business has changed so dramatically and for years I’d been making regressively less and less income through my music. I was only able to support my family by doing cartoon and game music, which was much-appreciated, but ultimately unsatisfying as an artist and songwriter. Patreon changed everything for me. In the past year I’ve recorded 66 songs in my bedroom studio—a fun mixture of brand-new songs and re-imaginings of some older songs, some raw acoustic versions and some full-blown (well, as full-blown as I’m capable of in Garageband!) multi-layered productions. I’ve been having an incredible time writing what I consider to be some of the best songs I’ve ever written, and while I do consider myself to be the greatest living guitar player ever in the history of the world (including all possible worlds if the multi-verse does indeed exist), miraculously I'm still managing to increase my guitar playing skills along the way. Seriously though, while I'm deeply thankful that I’m actually making some money again, nevertheless only 300 or so people have been privy to the new stuff. I passionately want you guys to hear this growing body of work, which is the primary reason for this update. I have 5,000 friends on Facebook, tens of thousands of fans of all the musical projects I’ve been a part of, from DA to the Swirling Eddies and The Lost Dogs, to The Neverhood and beyond…. and yet…only a little more than 300 people are a part of my Patreon community. For as little as $5 a month (the price of a cup of cappuccino in most states) you could be one of the annointed few enjoying 6 exclusive brand-new home demos a month (You’ll also have the added benefit of being able to mock and shame your friends and family members on the “outside"). At the end of every month we upload a link to all of the songs for that month (in AIFF and mp3) with hi-res artwork for that EP. Would you help me spread the word on your social media? In the words of St. Aquinas, "I'd really appreciate it!" If you're already a patron, well, then I already really appreciate it!

Horrendous Disc Ultra-Deluxe Re-issue

I want to thank all of our Kickstarter supporters for their support and their patience as this project has taken a little longer to complete than our first estimate. (C’mon, really, how can we put out Horrendous Disc WITHOUT a delay? It just wouldn’t feel right.) When this project was first conceived we thought we had a couple of dozen bonus tracks to compile and find masters for. As we progressed, more and more tapes began to surface and had to be restored, then transferred digitally, then remixed and remastered. In all we have nearly 100 tracks spread out across the entire set! Plus 100s of unseen photos that needed hi-res scanning and restoration, as well as some new original artwork done especially for this project by our own Jason Townsend. We even got all 6 original members of the group to sign postcards for the supporters who chose the “signed” tiers. A truly epic undertaking, but well worth it!  I can’t wait for you folks to see this. Special thanks to Tom Gulotta, who’s been battling brain cancer and Eric Townsend who’s been working tirelessly for the past few years to organize this massive undertaking .

Here’s a breakdown:

Vinyl edition- two 12-inch colored vinyl LPs- Horrendous Disc & Other Marvelous Mysteries in gatefold cover (21 songs), one 12-inch colored vinyl LP Ten Biggies From Beyond in single sleeve (10 songs), one 10-inch blue swirl vinyl promo EP (4 songs), one 7-inch picture disc (2 songs) - all in a 12x12 box

CD edition- two-CDs in gatefold cover Horrendous Disc & Other Marvelous Mysteries (27 tracks), single CD in sleeve- Ten Biggies From Beyond & Other Star Trax From Planet X (19 tracks), single CD in sleeve- Wondrous Cosmic Flashes (22 tracks), single CD in sleeve- Daniel Amos Live in ’79 (16 tracks) all in a 6x6 box, and Bandcamp bonus download compilation (16 more tracks).

Finishing touches are being put on all of the artwork and we expect to ship in late March or early April, depending on which tier you’re at.

Thanks again for all the love and support. You people are the best.

Much love,

Uncle Terry
