Just a heads-up, the X-Men movies had their own Quicksilver/Pietro who was played by this actor

Captain Marvel DID get her powers from the infinity stones. The professor she was working with (Lawson) was experimenting with the tesseract which contained one of the infinity stones. Also, Wanda is the strongest avenger, she can easily do what she's doing. And as others have pointed out, to those who have seen the most recent X-Men movies, the appearance of the X-Men version of Pietro was a big a reveal.

Captain Marvel in the MCU is just a joke with zero logic to it. I do like Wanda but Thor is by far the strongest Avenger. And Pietro showed up in X-men first, they made his character so cool, and then the next year we see another version of him who can't do much...

NAW Don has to binge the FOX movies ..we cant have a dead reaction to the MoM cameos, that Pietro reveal had the world going crazy at the time and Don was just blank face confused
