Here's the custom startup file I've been using for the past year or so. Comes with a very basic scene(including base meta rig I've taken to using as my scale reference), the scene creation workspace I usually use, my compositor settings and a million smaller menu adjustments I get sick of changing every time. For use either directly, or as inspiration for creating your own startup .blend file, which I cannot recommend putting some time into enough.
