Coronary Artery Heart Disease (CAHD) is the leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for 26% of all deaths. The main risk factors for CAHD are hypertension (high blood pressure), obesity, diabetes, and combustible tobacco use. These factors contribute to CAHD by damaging the blood vessels and heart, increasing the risk of blood clots and heart attacks.

Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States, accounting for 22% of all deaths. The risk factors for cancer vary depending on the type of cancer, but some common risk factors include smoking, excessive alcohol consumption, exposure to harmful substances, and a family history of cancer.

Watch out for those “risk factors not specified”. 😂

I read somewhere that if we managed to eradicate both heart disease and cancer, we would still only live about 3 years longer on average. This is because we would then die of something else instead, since people who would die of heart disease and cancer are weak in general because they also have a plethora of other health issues. It's all connected. So the key seems to be to live your life in a way that reduced the risk of getting heart disease or cancer, and then you'll reduce the risk of most other things as well.

People that die of 'old age' are actually dying of heart disease mostly.
