There were a few times in the past I played w oil, and was tempted in 2020 and early 2022. Perhaps worth another look :D

• Vitol Group, a privately held oil trader, doubled its average employee pay to $785,000 in 2022.
• The company's record profit of $15.1 billion was driven by the volatility in energy markets caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
• Vitol also paid out $2.5 billion in shareholder payouts to its top executives and traders in 2022 and another $2.5 billion in the first half of 2023.
• The company's profits were more than five times the average over the previous decade.
• Vitol used its profits to shore up its balance sheet, reducing loans and borrowings by more than half to $6 billion.
