Can't wait to find out how you figured this out. Either there's less than we think because whales dispersed their holdings in multiple wallets or more if even single-coiners are doing the same...

Look forward to watching it later today. Thanks for all of the research and info James.

Celsius took my whole coin status away

Thanks James for a wonderful video, I know you must've spent many hours to do the analysis of this video. I did not know there were actually fewer people who owns 1 BTC. It will be great if you could create another BTC retirement video. I am also crossing my fingers that Cathie Wood prediction that 1 BTC will reach 1.5 million USD by 2030.

ah man, I am sorry to hear about this, cry to remain optimistic

James your calculation maybe correct. Over Bitstamp, kraken, coinbase, multiple ledgers etc…. I have around 20 addresses over my history that I’ve generated myself. Maybe even more I’m forgetting. If your saying historically the total address that we’ve created over time for your calculation. Or are you saying activate addresses that hold coin now?

Thanks James! I'm new to the Patron community but have been following you for the last 2 years. June 2022 I had reached .98 of a Bitcoin on Celsius before they collapsed. Then I crawled back to .58 BTC before FTX took it all. Happy to say 2 weeks ago I finally achieved 1 WHOLECOINER status! Never gave up and took advantage of lower prices. Learned my lesson and now I keep my coin on separate cold storage devices.

If it is already altcoin season, then imagine what a rising Bitcoin will do to Ethereum and Solana. Once Bitcoin holders figure it out, they will swap. I invest in disruptive technology and the fastest horse.

Not true.. your’re being fooled by shipcoins and BTC is the only true decentralized asset. A fool and his money soon part.

A serious flaw in this is the substantial number of zero address whole coiners. People holding btc in PayPal, robinhood, on exchange(bankrupted or not), gbtc, wrapped btc, asset managers(fidelity etc), etfs, iras, this list could go on. It's completely overlooked and unaccounted for at all. It's entertaining and fun math but there are holes big enough to drive a truck through. To say nothing of the 31 addresses number claim that the zero address holders would greatly influence.

Thought Question :: If it becomes so scarce, with so few wholecoiners, how will there be a thriving Bitcoin economy working over the lightning network when people can't afford it. I presume we're then counting SATs instead.

I have a question about token distribution. I've seen some coins that have a top address that has x millions or billions of token for example polygon in the top address (it is also labeled als Polygon: Matic Token), but it doesn't count as %. Is that a burn address where coins are forever burned/lost? https://www.coincarp.com/currencies/matictoken/richlist/

Another question I have is about Blackrock, fidelity en co. being able to force a hard fork of bitcoin if they can get enough (30%?) to push it to proof of stake in the future en leaving old bitcoin proof of work to die? Sometimes confusing what to think about that and if people are realistic about those scenario's or what it would really mean.

It would need to be 50% of the mining/nodes, not 50% of all the coins.

NFA…. Was thinking to swap some Tesla to BTC today? Thoughts?

Is there a place where we can see Jame's charts and altcoin scoring tables? I'm new to Patreon, so forgive me if this a faux pas.
