So I am responding to Walter F’s comment “I feel like the robots are many years away.” about 40 mins, sub TJ. Walter, in more detail, auto plants have been using robots for probably decades. Why? Not only possibly spraying toxic components as paint, i.e. protective barriers, but also employed in many, repetitive, yet key, operations in the assembly of a vehicle. For me, new auto gigafactories are, bar none, the best beta sites to develop really smart robots for other uses. Bravo the Musk team! Yep, TSLA, as a great forward-looking company will always be volatile. I am going to apply some of my “dry powder “ in this great company during a an appropriate dip.

Looks like a beat on growth as James predicted, and a miss on profitability as I was suggesting. Overall a slight miss. I believe profitability will continue to slide once subsidies are removed and once Tesla starts making midsize and small cars. But growth will keep exploding. And if a high share of buyers pay for "full self driving" (requires a driver) then that could push profitability way up too.
