A funny film that still did catch me off guard with a couple dramatic moments and gave me a little food for thought. I didn't expect that, but it was a fun watch! Thanks for voting for it.

Wes Anderson loves to hit you with horrible tragedy after deliberately manipulating you into a headspace where you're not at all prepared to handle it. Darjeeling Limited is probably the biggest case of it in his career, but killing the dog here is also quite a big one.

While Wes Anderson's two earlier films (Bottle Rocket and Rushmore) were both critically acclaimed (and would be worth your time!), it was this film that ramped up an audience for his work beyond film aficionados, doing $50m+ at the U.S. box office. The soundtrack was a big hit too, charting on Billboard's 200 for several weeks, and showed up again last year when it was re-released on vinyl.
