Such a satisfying conclusion. I am truly impressed at this two-parter. Thought provoking, action, emotion. It kind of had it all.

Such an amazing story, and really well put together. Although I'm a little disappointed it did all work out, as I was really looking forward to the rest of the series being the Doctor and Rose having to get jobs on the nearest planet, with an entire episode dedicated to them filling out the mortgage paperwork. Maybe another time lol.

This story is a true testament to the power of storytelling and imagination. Yeah, most of Who is, but this one just oozes it. It doesn't matter if the science is a bit wonky or that the CGI may seem a bit dated. It doesn't even matter that one moment Ida tells us that this planet "doesn't have a name - how could it have a name?" - and a few minutes later tells us that this planet "is called Krop Tor". Both of those lines are shorthand to tell the story and build the world, and they work perfectly for just that. (And to be fair, with a bit of good will, the contradiction is even easily explained away). It also doesn't matter in this case that the TARDIS conveniently appears when and where needed, because that's not the story. Almost any good story takes such shortcuts. But, of course, Who is *built* on that - it needs to establish a new world and tell a completely new story with new characters that we (hopefully) care about, constantly. With the sonic screwdriver and psychic paper being shortcuts to skip the bits that only get in the way of telling that story. And the entire world being a place where even the idea of the science "being wonky" is somewhat meaningless from the get-go. Anyway, most don't even notice things like Ida's contradictory statements about the planet's name. But not because this is an overly hectic story that doesn't leave time for thought - thankfully, it gets two episodes, and is perfectly paced too. The reason most don't notice it, I think, is rather because the writing is on point, and every part of the execution too - acting, cinematography, production design, makeup, sound design, music, VFX design... (Yes, stuff like the black hole has a *lot* of artistic liberty taken - but again, it serves the story, also see above, re: "wonky science"). In short, great storytelling. You just get swept away. Finally: Haven't seen the hateful comments, so no idea what they're about - you seem more than enough of a composed guy to not let it bother you. Still: *Really* don't let it bother you. 🙂 I haven't seen many reacters as genuine, amiable and enjoyable as you. And with the smarts *and* willingness to just enjoy the story and imagination of it all that makes the perfect audience for Doctor Who. Really transports me back to the first time watching these stories, and the first time introducing them to friends. So, thank you, Chris! (Moved to "The Satan Pit" - I accidentally posted on the first part)

Imagine if they'd tried to cram this into a single episode 😭 It was an amazing two-parter. And thanks for the kind words.
