I asked for suggestions and you delivered! So many great films that have never seen the light of day on a YouTube reaction. It was a real challenge narrowing down to only five films. Trust me, some of the suggestions will appear on other polls some day. A couple almost made the cut here, but I found a handful of reactions and decided to stay true to the rule of the poll.

Did I pick the best movies? Probably not, but darn if I'm not interested to see the ones on this list. Admittedly, this is a wild mix of genres and tones so what are you in the mood for?

I mostly included the IMDB description here in italics:

The Manchurian Candidate (1962) Frank Sinatra acted? I'm learning so many things. An American POW in the Korean War is brainwashed as an unwitting assassin for an international Communist conspiracy.

The Shadow (1994) Alec Baldwin stars what looks to be a noirish superhero detective flick. The pictures make me think the tone of the film is pure adventure fun.  In 1930s New York City, The Shadow (Alec Baldwin) battles his nemesis, Shiwan Khan (John Lone), who is building an atomic bomb.

Sphere (1998)  From the author of Jurassic Park starring Dustin Hoffman, Sharon Stone, and Samuel L Jackson. A spaceship is discovered under three hundred years' worth of coral growth at the bottom of the ocean.

Death to Smoochy (2002) Director Danny Devito brings a Robin Williams-led dark comedy? Outrageous.  A kids' show is fired in disgrace while his replacement, Sheldon Mopes, A.K.A. Smoochy the Rhino, finds himself a rising star. Unfortunately for Sheldon, the business of kids' television isn't all child's play.

Silence (2016)  Andrew Garfield( a truly great actor. He has been different in everything I've seen him in) and Adam Driver star in this Martin Scorcese film! In the 17th century, two Portuguese Jesuit priests travel to Japan in an attempt to locate their mentor, who is rumored to have committed apostasy, and to propagate Catholicism.

Ha, I actually waited to vote until I had seen Silence. Started it..... I have to confess, I had a hard time getting into it (and haven't been able to finish it!) so I'm going to have to vote Manchurian Candidate! I see Silence is at the very bottom so I guess I don't feel that bad! Haven't seen the others! So Sinatra it is! Sinatra was a good actor, actually! From Here To Eternity, Guys And Dolls, Man With The Golden Arm, On The Town, Manchurian Candidate.....damn, even I didn't know how many good movies he was in until I wrote this comment! :D PS: Hey, I have watched a few reactions for "Amadeus" recently, and I think that's a movie right up your alley, for many reasons, don't want to give any spoilers! It makes a fantastic reaction video no matter who does it, but I think you would really have a lot to say about it! (feel free to agree with me, all those who see this comment! lol) Amadeus! Best picture of 1984 if I remember correctly. One of a kind movie!

Ryan

Also worth checking out is the largely forgotten film noir Suddenly, with him and Sterling Hayden both playing against type to great effect, Hayden as the hero cop and Sinatra as the psychopath killer.

Tic Toc Melody

Thanks for the tip! I know the title, didn't realize it has Sinatra AND Sterling! I'm down for that one! Will be DEFINITELY checking that out, very soon, possibly NOW. Will give you a full report!

Hopefully you seeing this starts a trend (you're the #1 reactor I wanna watch it with, but there be others...) So strange it's not yet a thing. Highly regarded, awards abound, a rockem sockem cast, mystery and intrigue, controversy out the wazzo, and a damn fine film all around. I can't say what you'll like, Chris, as I'm a terrible scanner but 💯 guarantee: you won't be bored. I just ordered a Criterion Bluray to watch with you next month.

Ya never know what'll start a trend! Maybe this'll do it. Let's go! promise you, if it does incredibly well a trend will begin lol. I never know, really how I'll respond to a film. Unless I have a very good idea of the style and tone of the film beforehand, it's hard to predict haha. Looking forward to finding out with this one!

I'd rather watch with you and there's no trend rather that it somehow trended and you never saw it. So I'm good. Here's hoping you find the movie as lovable as us voters do!
