I did not expect a “9/11” musical to be so uplifting and have so many laughs amidst the tears. It was wonderful to follow various the stories of those stranded in a small Canadian town in the days following the September 11, terrorist attack. A wonderful stage production, with technical proficiency and a surprisingly touch story full of generosity, heartache, and a touch of romance. Thank you Nick Owens for this selection!

Still in the intro… I had the exact thoughts about a musical about this topic — “WHY??!” But when I heard it had a Tony nomination for best musical I decided to check out the soundtrack… and I understood. I’ve since heard it described as “really a 9/12 story.” Then seeing it on Apple TV and how respectfully it was done, no over-the-top choreography, appropriate comic relief…. I became convinced EVERYONE needs to see it!

I think you nailed it! The film works precisely because of how respectfully done it was. I kid of wouldn't have thought it was possible to do so well! Love the idea of describing it as a 9/12 story. Thanks for dropping in to watch it. I hope you enjoy the rest :)
