March Update 2024 (Patreon)

Hello everyone! Apologies for the late formal update post, but there’s a few things I’d like to mention (hopefully) briefly.

First of all, $6 patrons have already gotten access to all the WIP rough pages of the new comic (tentatively titled New Roommate). If you’ve checked them out the first thing you probably noticed was that the new comic is SUPER long. In fact it’s currently sitting at 62 pages, which is a new record in terms of length. I’ll be chipping at it as often as I can over the next little while but I can say for sure that it will take a bit longer than the usual comic turnaround of approximately 1 month or so. That said, I hope people like it when it does get finished! Personally I am really excited for it as I believe it may be my best comic to date when it’s out. Also, this brings me to what I am expecting to accomplish this month.

This month, I’d like to:

• Ink as many pages of New Roommate as possible
• Finish and release the short Movie Flick Chick comic I started back in February
• Draw some one-off original pieces, including possibly some pictures of my OCs that I haven’t drawn in awhile (Or just more casual non-committal pieces of art in general)
• Fanart poll as usual (maybe do 2 polls this month to make up for less finished comics???)
• I’ve also considered going through and cataloguing all my posts into collections or something to make it easier to access old stuff, especially for new patrons.

I will also say that for those wondering about an update on my shoulder issue from February, at the moment it seems to be feeling much better. I have actually rearranged my office at home a bit so that I can work in a way that is much better for both my arm and my back as well. I am still not using my arm quite as much because I don’t want to risk a relapse but I am able to draw much more freely again. I feel very grateful for those of you who gave me kind words and support during the last few weeks, it really did help me out a lot.

Finally I have one more thing I think I’d like to announce for now in regards to something a bit further down the line. As many of you know I released the Movie Flick Chick book early this January, and the release was a great success! I even completely sold out of the first printing and had to do an emergency reprint. Well I have been thinking about it and I want to announce that my second book release will be a collection of June stories, coinciding with the completion of the New Roommate comic. I still haven’t locked anything down yet, but I’d like the collection to at least contain Backstage, Why Don’t You Have A Partner June?! and Mutual Masturbation, as well as New Roommate. Not sure exactly when to expect that book release but let’s say for now perhaps early summer? After all, I would still need to go back and reformat all those older comics like I did for the Movie Flick Chick comics on the last book.

Anyways, that’s really all for now! I’ll have more updates for you soon, as well as a fanart poll shortly. I’m currently a little low on inspo for poll options so maybe I’ll open it up for suggestions on characters or themes? Comment below if you’ve got any.
