EDIT: Besides being available on Smashwords, it's now ready on Kindle! (still not paperback yet though, don't jump the gun!!)

This is FREE if you already have the ebook

There were a couple things that bothered me about the original release of TTL, so they have now been fixed (hopefully). This isn't a HUGE overhaul, since it started because I noticed some glaring typos in the first edition, some breaks in continuity with TCO, and a few sentences that should not have left final.

However I did change Gert's inner monologue and some of his dialogue in a couple of scenes. Writing The Captain's Oath gave me a lot of insight into how to build a character, and I wanted to make Gert's motivations feel less muddy. This shouldn't change too much--I'm not about to rewrite the book start to finish--and overall probably less than 2% of the book was rewritten.

The kindle edition should be updated once KDP lets me in [letmein.gif], but the print version of the book probably won't get an update for a month or two; I want to allow people further opportunity to report more typos or continuity errors I may have missed first.

Why a second edition? Well, to soothe my conscience for one, but also because I'm having an audiobook produced. More on that later!

Hello. How do I get a copy of this. I set up a Smashwords account and I used the link, and it wants me to buy it. Is it included with my Patreon?

If you were a $5 patron earlier today you should have gotten a coupon in your messages!

Well, I haven't ordered my hardcopy yet... been making do with Kindle books. But eventually I want to get the whole set in dead-tree format. So I'll have to pay attention to which edition I'm ordering. Off hand, does it matter at all whether I'm ordering from Amazon or Smashwords?

rickgriffin

Amazon is the only one that carries the book itself. Ebooks are available from either (smashwords provides all formats). I'll probably make another announcement when the paperback second edition is ready.

Woot! Congratulations on taking the time to do that. Probably feels great if it's been eating away at you. Thank you! Looking forward to revisiting it. Good luck with the audiobook production.
