I enjoyed this much more than Shaun of the Dead and is a near perfect comedy in my opinion. I have no idea how they fit so many jokes in it is just astounding

Would love to hear which you prefer out of the two and why as well!

Legitimately SHOCKED that you have never seen this as a fellow Brit. I love love love this film, I’ve probably seen it about 15 times and I spot something new every rewatch. By far the best of the cornetto trilogy.

Hot Fuzz is definitely better to me though for some reason Shaun of the Dead is more iconic, maybe because of all the memes of it, not sure. This film just has almost no filler scenes at all, almost all of them come back to mean something later. I found it a lot more funny than Shaun of the Dead as well, more actual laughs. Also so well written and directed that it could work just as well as a murder mystery, action or comedy film in it's own right, let alone putting all of those together. I had the same thought with that guy in the freezer so I bet that was very intentional and very clever that they did that. Just in general clever writing and well executed lines by the actors as well. I don't think I've seen the third film so that should be interesting for next week.

TRULY the best of the Cornetto Trilogy :) also, I ADORE Olivia in this movie, so naughty. Probably one of the smartest movies Ive ever seen.

I'd only ever seen Shaun of the Dead of the Cornetto trilogy. I went into this with low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. I'd say it surpassed SotD a wee bit on the comedy scale. I also hate the argument about humor on either side of the pond being better. Humor is subjective. Different strokes for different folks.

I saw your enthusiasm in the first bit of the YouTube video, had to come over to watch the whole movie. I've seen the movie many many times, but watching with someone seeing it for the first time, someone who's enjoying it as much as you did, made this fun as hell.
