I still have covid but I had enough energy today to do some reader questions! Hooray!

1. I know the question asker wanted to see some proper australian possums but I took it as the chance to get very american about what we call possums up here, lol.

2. I would imagine that a lot of bird-eyed creatures can see in some form of UV, but I also think there's enough non-UV-seeing creatures that it's just assumed that most people can't see it. This makes David upset, though, he's beautiful and only a few people can see the full extent of his beauty.

3. a seagull dolphin would be pure evil. no i will not be taking notes

4. Dragons in skin deep are more based on local folklore (Dis Pater is based on an Armenian Vishap and Nudelschlange is based on germanic lindworms, for example) than "it has two wings and two legs so therefore it's a wyvern, not a dragon" or other such categories. Dragons are kinda like fish. They all look different and are probably not very closely related to each other, but you look at them and you go "Oh that's a dragon."

5.  This is the perfect question for me, as the mid-00s was the height of my "i know about current music" powers. All these albums were listened to a lot while making Skin Deep circa 2005. EDIT: Oh no i just realized I wrote down "The Islands" instead of "The Unicorns" WHAT A BLUNDER. The Islands are a band created from half of the Unicorns and their first album didn't come out until 2006 oh i'm so embarrassed

I'm guessing the reason they call them "possums" up here is because "oplaying opossum" sounds weird.
