Check out Discord for your rewards! Here is 33 and Ruby is not having it :o or I guess technically she is having it but you know what I mean. Anyway, I hope you guys like! I tried several new things, one of which was trying another method of rendering hair and I think. I THINK this may be one that I’m satisfied with. As mentioned before, I was trying to visually analyze the coloring methods of artists DFer and Alkemanubis and I really loved their stylization with how they rendered hair. I noticed at the brightest of the way they rendered hair, right underneath was where most of the darker parts of the hue was but slowly became lighter at the ends. They don’t do this all the time but it’s what made hair stand out the most for me imo whenever these artists do decide to use that method and I tried implementing it here! I especially loved the outcome when I applied it to Yang, however I’m concerned that I’d only be satisfied with Yang for this particular page since most of the long bits aren’t visible so I’m not sure how this method would suffice if I attempted it in a larger body of hair.

Oddly enough, I done a similar method (most likely uknowingly) at page 27 so it seems that I’m returning to those “roots” and hopefully I can mimic that with future shots of large bodies of hair! Speaking of hair, one last bit I’d like to mention about hair is that I always felt troubled with how body hair looked on men and I was curious on how come it always looked like it was just “placed on top” and not actually part of them. I think I may have found a solution in which I applied a copy+paste method of the same layer, made it a multiply effect instead, made sure it was the same tone as the skin, and voila! It helped made the hair, at least in my eyes, feel like it was casting a sense of shadow and weight to it! of course I do need to improve this a bit more, like for instance a better brush to make it feel more “wisped” and whatnot. Most of my inspiration to create it well is from the artist Incase so hopefully I can learn more from their works! That’s all for now but hope you all like!
