Ninaofthe90s

one of the greatest endings of all time.

Ninaofthe90s

was it The Sopranos you forgot or maybe Hannibal for the top tier? And Lost, Agents of SHIELD are pretty high up as well right? And what about The Leftovers?

truly one of the greatest series finales of all time, just pure television excellence

Thanks Jimmy! Rewatching The American's with you has been a pleasure. Not sure which show you are forgetting in your A+ tier but here is mine. Outside of the top 3 the order can change depending on my mood and recency bias for how long its been since the last rewatch(The Wire has been rewatched so many times I lost count). A+, I almost want the put The Wire/BSC/BB in their own Legendary Tier The Wire Better Call Saul Breaking Bad Deadwood The West Wing *the only traditional network show that made my top tier list Justified The Shield Mad Men Black Sails Oz A The Sopranos The Americans Boardwalk Empire Rescue Me The leftovers The Newsroom Six Feet Under A-, great shows and some were contenders for A+ at one pint but dropped the ball along the way Game Of Thrones House of Cards Dexter Peaky Blinders Lost Buffy The Vampire Slayer Sons Of Anarchy Ray Donovan I know I am forgetting some and with deeper thought some A/A- may be moved around but its close enough for now.

My top tier: Mad Men, Lost, Person of Interest, Black Sails and The Last Kingdom And almost A+ are Sherlock, The Leftovers, Friends, Queer as Folk, Mindhunter and Breaking Bad I haven't watched Justified and Better call Saul yet. (Shame on me) and I can't put Game of thrones on that list because it would be kind of insulting to the other shows. Seasons 1-4 were top tier (maybe the best thing I have ever seen) , 5 and 6 were mixed and 7 and 8 were atrocious. Can't put it on the list with these almost constantly amazing shows. Other shows I love that come close:Hannibal, The Wire, Banshee, The Office, ER and Black Mirror.

I saw a guy do a tournament style top movies/characters on twitter once and it was fun. I would love to see people post their top 10 list on the community page. Forgive me but I'm just corny like that.

Wanted to chime in and echo the sentiments above; it was a PLEASURE to re-watch The Americans via your Patreon. It's such an incredible show, and I honestly feel lucky that you chose to watch it; it doesn't get a lot of reactions to begin with, and I think you're the perfect reactor for it--the show is wicked stressful but also requires a certain patience. This was only my second time re-watching the series and it's just so impressive. Writing, casting, pacing, music, just a (depressing) gem. Elizabeth Jennings and Stan Beeman are all-time great characters, and I'm refraining from listing all the supporting characters and moments because this comment length is getting embarrassing. :D Anyway, thank you!

Thank you so much for these reactions—I’ve really loved revisiting this show with you. That scene in the garage with Stan and the Jennings family has been living rent-free in my brain since it first aired; I think it’s absolutely masterful and I loved how you were able to appreciate it so deeply as well. I think it perfectly sums up the show: complex, layered emotions, understated, beautifully shot (Stan, a dark silhouette receding into the background as they drive away), and acted to perfection. I discovered you through Succession but The Americans was a great surprise treat, and I’m happy to see you doing The Office as well. I know I’m not the first to urge you to react to Mad Men, but I truly think it’s perfect for you with its pacing and complexity. It’s a good vehicle for someone who is thoughtful and insightful but also appreciates the artistry of television.
