"I don't know who she is but she's acting her ass off too!" Marcia Gay Harden! I think this is the third (?) movie you've reacted to with her in it: She was Verna in Miller's Crossing and she was Mrs. Carmody (the religious nutjob) in The Mist. Super underrated actress, I think, as she so thoroughly embodies her characters!! She killed it here as Dave's wife. Anyhow, I'm sorry this one didn't really do it for you (bummer about the Mass. accents! - I can't really tell) but I absolutely loved the reaction regardless. I enjoy this movie more and more each time I see it. I think, at this point, it might be creeping into my top 50! Wendy's Lady Macbeth monologue at the end gives me chills every time. And god damn Sean Penn is so good. Finally, the writing duo of Brian Helgeland (screenplay) and Dennis Lehane (novel) was fucking killer. edit: In case anyone doesn't know (no clue if everyone knows this already.) Emmy Rossum (Sean Penn's daughter) is also a farcically gifted singer (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkE8JW56as8). Her 2013 album was awesome, I thought.
