Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Okay, yeah, that was a lot of fun. I dun goofed when I stopped watching this show. I'm not into it enough to binge it on my own necessarily, but it's fun to watch along for an episode every leap year or so ;) Still, I do have to disagree with y'all about Wendy! Not only is she NOT the goat for me, but I spend at least 1/4 of each episode wishing that Marty had asked the cartel fellow to kill her at sugardick's apartment back in season 1. Oh my god she's so awful and I comprehensively dislike her. Marty, on the other hand, is a fucking legend :) It's not just the age thing, on its own, that bothers me about Darlene/Wyatt. It's mostly the fact that Darlene reminds me of the decrepit version of the bathtub woman from Doctor Sleep/The Shining. Gross. Truth be told, I don't really get why everyone puts up with Darlene at this point. For instance, when she was at the office with Wendy and the other cartel lady, why didn't they just grab her and cut her throat right then and there? Did I miss something? Would there be any repercussions from anyone?! I must be forgetting a major plot point.

the actress playing Darlene is almost 70 (in January) btw 😂

I don't know what you're trying to interpret here 😂 - but there's nothing sexual about Ruth and whatever his name is. And there's nothing sexy about threatening someone or being violent. Especially with Ruth. He's a prick and Ruth isn't attracted to that. She's had enough men like this in her life.

Jimmy - Ben is bipolar. It's a mental illness. I knew that immediately. He has to take medication. But I know about the problems medication like this can cause. So I understand why he doesn't want to take them. It's basically choosing between two fucked up situations. And meds like these can sedate you in a way that feel like you're not living at all. It's just shit. This is actually a very good representation of bipolar disorder, it's more than just having outbursts. Bipolar doesn't mean you become violent automatically. That's bullshit. The mood swings and what's going on inside your head are very difficult to explain. My guess is what Wndy is trying to say is not that he did anything specifially - like I said being bipolar doesn't mean you are a violent person or assault people. It's just very very hard to live with someone who is bipolar, because it can be so exhausting. They are great people - Ben certainly is. But sometimes they can be their own worst enemy. A mixture of high highs and low lows and distorted perception during a manic episode. And Wendy knows that since she grew up with it. I don't think anyone can truly understand that unless they are bipolar or if they are close to people that are. As an outsider it's very difficult to understand what's happening. I haven't watched further than episode 6 yet (but I'm about to) so I can't speak for what's to come) but I feel like I can delve into that a little more in the next episodes if they keep showing us this issue. Even though it's very emotional and very triggering for me.. The actor who plays Ben is just magnificent.

yalls comments are making me hesitant to watch. Nina— they are taking douche and Ruth as sexual — and explaining Bipolar ( which is the foundation of his character since mentioned in s1) — Im guessing by the comment none of them been close to someone with that mental health situaion. I have so I devestated watching these eps. Meds numb you, you get off and boom that intensity and rush is back about life, but sadly it comes w the bad too. 😬😓 Depending on the degree of swings, can be mild to uncontrolable. . . it was hard to caregive in that, but you do it bc u love them. Hence Wendy. ok going in 🤔😬🤣 play—

Oh no - It wasn't my intention to make you hesitant to watch. I think I'm going to delve into the topic bit more if the show gives me the chance to. Just wanted to say that I share some of the symptoms even though I'm not bipolar - but I do have a personality disorder and I have friends that are bipolar. So I know 😥 Same goes for heavy medication. I don't blame Jimmy and Cash though, because they don't know about it. This is a very difficult topic to show on screen and just as difficult to understand as a viewer. But I think the show does an excellent job with it. I freakin love Ben and to be honest I'm a bit scared to watch the next episode, because I can see this becoming a major problem with the cartel and all. While I love the show and Wendy - Ben is the character I'm emotionally invested in the most. I don't wanna see anything bad happening to him, it would break my heart. I think I'm gonna wait a few days to watch the next one. - I hope you still enjoy the reaction! ❤
