This is a really great first season. I think my absolute favorite scene is when Tarloc kills Amon on the boat. It's so much darker than anything up to that point in the series and establishes the fact that characters can, and will, die. Season 2 is probably the weakest season although it's still great and has some absolute banger moments. Luckily seasons 3 and 4 are some of the best in the whole franchise.

it felt like a series finale, because originally it was gonna be a 12 episode miniseries. Then Nickelodeon gave them a 2nd series. and after that they gave them 2 more, but while in the mean time pulling budget at some points and other crazy stunts. Nickelodeon was was like the abuser in an abusive relationship really

Season 2 is both great and the weakest, agreed. It does so much heavy lifting to knit the two shows together while simultaneously distancing itself and showing how LoK is it's own show. It does a great job actually making some things in ATLA work even better, by giving some retroactive explanation for some things. Plus it introduces one of my favorite characters in either series.
