We follow characters who have plans and are trying to figure out other characters plans but we get no real change in those characters as they learn and supposedly grow. Bernard and Stubbs - no change. Caleb - no change except recovering a few memories. Maeve - action scenes with no change. Dolores - change except we don't ever see it we just get Maeve explaining it to us at the end. William - no real change, went from thinking he's a good guy massacring hosts to.. saying he's the good guy and want to massacre hosts. And now dead. Funny enough only real change in a character we get to see is Halores and hers is extreme. From a Dolores copy at the start to loving her pretend family to getting them killed to betraying herself to now want to ruin the entire human world. All in all it all just feels.. desolate. Can't really connect with the characters anymore and it feels stale. So yeah, this was a season. Not good, not to bad. Some action, some philosophical stuff in there a about control of ones life, a LOT of set pieces and walking. Rewatching the Genre episode I think like 15 minutes is just music heavy lingering shots of walking and traveling by car or train. I lost my train of thoughts I was going to write next so just like this season I'mma just end.

I didn't like this season. I think they shot themselves in the foot by abandoning Westworld and now have no idea how to wrap this up. I hope season 4 is the last. I also hope they bring Westworld into the real world. In that, Delos attempt to replace humans with host counterparts like William and make the entire world one big park (or many themed parks). Or at least have plans for it and successfully do it for a few areas or something. Ultimately, the plans being foiled.

I see what you're saying, and while I still love season 1 above all, the creators already planned and mapped out a story for 5 seasons. The westworld park was intriguing and contained the heart of the show but we always knew it wasnt going to stay that way. I think Delores will bring the west to the real world like you said, but it'll be more of a lawless world. The wild west that expands far beyond cowboys and Indians, since Delores and the hosts have no interested in living in a fantasy world anymore. I have my gripes with this season but either way I hope both of us and everyone else can find something to look forward to in season 4!
