Hey Jimmy, without spoilers just to let you know. This show doesn't do "fan service". Every character you saw in this episode becomes relevant later on in the story even if it isn't this season. As long as you keep in mind that nothing is random, you'll truly appreciate the level of world building that will be going on. There's so many easter eggs for us book readers in this season. I'm hoping you're astute enough to pick up on some of them for further down the line.

This season will be much different to previous ones. Are crew is on a planet for the first time, the Bobbie stuff is from a novella they are incorperating into season, as well as stuff from other novellas with Amos, Drummer, Avasarala and Ashford, who were all absent in book 4 ( with the exception of Amos). They are also doing a bunch of S5 set up. The aspect ratio was a creative decision, used to show a difference between when we're on the alien world and not everywhere else. Haha, Karl fookin Tanner...Burn Gorman, excellent casting for Murtry! Thanks Jimmy!

No, they do a different type of fan service. In S4, as a thank you to some of the fans from save the expanse movement, they named a bunch of stuff on mars after them. There is a firehawks bar, that Bobbie walks past and in ep 406 there is a scene with Bobbie where she is sitting next to a big wall screen with a map of shuttle stops and there is like 10 fan names on there. Mine included, upper right corner "Ruffcorn", I have a restaurant on mars named after me. Still can't believe it. When I started reading and fell in love with the books 8 yrs ago, would never thought it would lead here.
