Eh. No. The point was to try and save the show from cancellation at the time (at least as is speculated). It worked. It's best suited for the finale and is in keeping with the theme of doing a crazy episode in 19, as has happened since season 2. From a narrative standpoint though, it makes sense to view it as the premiere to season 5, since that is what it is and seeing this episode before the real finale to this season ruins moments in that episode.

Many of us in the "It's Like... Big" tier recommended this change in order. Yes, Fringe did "tease" the coming seasons with a "what the f" episode near the end of some seasons, but as Gord said, those decisions were typically a result of pressures that their contract would end w/o a bump in ratings. So we recommended following the artist's intended story rather than the result of corporate whims.
