Sir Reese and Monette share an interesting 'friendship'. The stoic blade master is a seasoned Demon Hunter from Wakoku, and has seen his fair share of lilin, yokai, demons, and subverted creatures in his life. Despite her allure, experience, and beauty, Reese regards Monette as 'nothing he hasn't seen before' or 'nothing he cannot handle'.

At first he was taken aback at the Primus' mad decision to allow a dangerous lilin to take the 'Raven's Oath', seeing it as another sign of the kin's remarkable frivolity in his decision making. He liked it even less when his Prince Vandell insisted that the creature be assigned to the 'Raven Prince's' detail as part of their training. As she, Reese, and the Outlander Riyo were not citizens of Lioncourt, and therefore needed basic training in knightly decorum and politics. Though Reese knew that this was not the fanciful dandy's real reason to make such a request of the Order.

Over time however, Reese has come to respect Monette, despite her constant attempts to seduce, enthrall, and entice everyone she meets. He is aware of her true nature, but believes there to be more to the salacious succubus. Despite her forward and uncouth behavior, she carries herself with a dignity that is uncommon in her kind. A sign that she is perhaps more important to the Court of Shadows back in the Elderlands than she cares to admit.

The two share a complicated relationship that is writhe with half truths, innuendos, and manipulation on the cubi's part, but as Reese so elegantly put it; 'He's dealt with all of that before.', and he's not worried about falling victim to Monette's machinations... but maybe he should be.
