I find it interesting that in most interpretations of the symbiote since Spectacular have portrayed it as emotionally needy in someway or another (the jilted lover vibe you mentioned) and/or a bit of an emotional parasite/backseat driver. Parker is a hero with angst who gets picked on? We will release our aggression on the world and those that wronged us! Brock is vengeful and a bit obsessive? We will stalk and wreck vengeance upon our enemies. Movie Brock wants to be a hero? We are the Lethal Protector! The Symbiote is even trying to wingman him in his relationship with his ex “I’m going to make you cry now. She’ll love it!”
