I love them all, and Doctor Ruth in a very special way. But my first family share of Doctor Who was also the last words I remember my Dad saying, clearly, before his first stroke scrambled his speech. It really shouldn't have happened. We were invited to my sister's wonderful in-laws' place. But Dad was too sick to travel. I shouldn't have been sitting in front of our parents' TV, but I was working on a tax course. Because a good local friend lent me all his Doctor Who DVDs, I'd heard the ad for BBC America countless times (and loved it), so I remembered. "Oh, it is a thing," and I did find it in our parents' satellite TV. So I was watching the holiday Doctor Who marathon, and learning US income tax returns. Dad passed through, a few times, and stopped once. He pointed at the screen, where Matt Smith was doing something, and said "That guy you've been watching all day. ... there's something about him ... " I was prepared for something critical, even though Dad had mellowed a lot. Instead, Dad said "He seems really trustworthy. I'd like to have a cup of coffee with him." After Dad had his first stroke, I wrote to Matt Smith, care of an address a friend looked up for me, telling him about this. Matt doesn't know that half a year later, a second stroke finished Dad off. So that's the last thing I recall Dad saying clearly, and that's why Matt will always be my favorite, and I told him so.

I was about to send this to a friend that love Doctor Who, but I realized maybe it's not okay to share those drawing ? Since we only have access to them via Patreon ?
