Quick announcement (Patreon)
Content
Because of this, a lot of people are boycotting patreon, and a lot of people with $1 pledges are deleting their pledges. I just wanted to pop in to say if you're considering doing so, please, by all means, go for it.
This new policy is annoying to us, but it's debilitating to the creators who rely on patreon for their income, especially the ones who've cultivated a large fanbase with what amounts to a tip jar where most of their pledges are $1. But the more people who vocally object to this, and the more people who delete their pledges to hit patreon in their wallets, the more likely it'll be that patreon rolls back the feature.
It's a bit of a gamble - again, a lot of people rely on patreon for their income, and boycotting their patreons could hurt them in the short run - but if you want to delete a pledge and send a message to Patreon, deleting a pledge to us is a pretty safe way to go. We can take a temporary financial hit if doing so means a victory for the forces of justice. :)
