I've had this sort of unspoken tradition here where I welcome our new subscribers on Mondays, but I think I forgot to do that in the update last week. Didn't I? I think I did. Yes, I did. So let's all please welcome Hellhound!

Comic this week? I think I'm still kinda stuck on an every other week pace for the short term, so no, not this week. But I do really want to finish the extra bonus things that are hanging over my head, so I'll try and get those posted this week at least.

Drawing - Ancestor art, bonus Frey art, the Next Page. (Narrowing my focus a bit so it's easier to actually make meaningful progress on something).

Playing - Rimworld. Again.

Ramble:

So I've been thinking for awhile that I need to figure out some way to mix things up if I want to level up my comic drawing. Then David Lillie of Dreamkeepers fame just dropped a video on Youtube a few days ago on the exact topic I've been thinking about! Lucky me! It's given me a lot more to think about, which is awesome. How the heccing hecc I'm gonna do anything with it though... that's something I still need to decide on. Time to experiment!

If you're at all unfamiliar with Dreamkeepers, it's one of the major comics that inspired me to make my own. David Lillie's art is phenomenal, and lately they've been going through and producing tutorial videos with amazing tips on how to draw comics. If you have any interest in the comic creation process at all, even a fleeting curiosity, you should check them out! They're worth a watch!

Reinventing how I do things, though, is going to slow down my whole process, which it's already sorta started to do. I think I've rambled about it before where there's this tradeoff between speed and quality. Quality is many things, and one of those things is improving myself and the way I do this craft. As I learn new techniques or try to incorporate them into my art, it slows me way down. Then as I practice and refine and adapt to those techniques, I'll steadily get faster at it until I reach a point where things get a little stale for me and then I need to look into more new techniques.

Right now I'm definitely in that "looking for and learning new techniques" phase. As I type that, this is starting to feel like deja vu, but that's probably to be expected because I know for a fact I've been through this phase a few times before in the past almost six years. Hopefully as I start to incorporate the things I'm learning now into my art more and more you'll notice some improvements in the coming months, even though my output pace will definitely take a hit.

So thanks for your patience, thanks for reading, hopefully you're all as excited as I am for whatever might come from my experimenting!

oh so many for welcoming me Trick! I must admit that I really like your comic because of its high NSFW content, especially if we see your characters naked. XD
