tl;dr Progress toward next alpha

Today's image:

The joys of teaching your maid to strip for night service. I've been trying hard to make all my recent images look nice, I hope you like this one. :)

Progress on the PAL alpha:

I've made progress on a number of fronts this week, although it's all been creeping up slowly. I've continued to work on some images; I did some more revisions of important images and made some new ones. The image of Iku above is one that I took from a basic early test pose up to a fully established, properly lit and rendered in-game shot, for example.

I also did some writing - you can probably expect that in the next PAL alpha there will be no more 'placeholders' for night service responses. There will be placeholder responses for other stuff, but night service should be all written up, with more images than last time (though NS won't be 100% illustrated yet).

I've done some sound editing - mostly playing around with adding sound effects to match with the moaning, to try and give you more of a realistic audio-scape, rather than just moans in the abstract. I like the results so far.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, I've done more programming. A lot of it has been 'invisible' stuff - just making the game work properly in the background by tinkering with variables and restrictions, etc. You'll find this means certain subtle differences - night service actions now have to happen consecutively, for example. Even if Iku's lust is really high you can't get her to strip off right away, you have to go through stage 1, 2 and 3 before you see stage 4. Also Kenji's lust is now being implemented, although I'm not finished with that yet.

I've implemented plot to day 6 so far, but I plan to go a little bit further before releasing the next alpha. Oh, and that next alpha version should be coming soon, maybe even this week.

Next week:

I know I said I'd give you a run-down of how the combat system will work this week, but I didn't get around to writing it up. :/ What I'm actually thinking is that it will be better if I do that once I launch into programming it anyway, because I'll probably get stuck into that reasonably soon, and then all the mechanics will be clear in my mind. So you can probably expect that run-down either next update or the one after; sorry to keep you waiting.

Kind of a short update this week because I'm very busy, but I have been and will continue to dedicate time to the game. It's proven much, much easier to prioritize game development with your support, so inertia just isn't the problem it used to be for me.
