as you can see this is the render without the 3d model. as you are sketching turn the under layer on AND off periodically as you check to make sure your gesture is working right. at this point you can throw away the 3d layer as you have all the necessary structural information you need. i however am color blind in certian reds and greens so i keep the render for a color and a light base refrence
